PocketGE is a free, mobile-first Old School RuneScape Grand Exchange tracker built for flippers and merchers. Everything below is live in the app above — no separate accounts, no signup, no ads.

Live OSRS margins with the 2% GE tax built in

Every item view shows the live insta-buy and insta-sell from the OSRS Wiki real-time prices API, alongside a target buy and target sell from a trade engine that anchors against competitive bids rather than the spread midpoint. The flip profit calculator applies the Grand Exchange's 2% sales tax (capped at 5,000,000 gp per trade) so the displayed profit is the gp you actually keep, not a pre-tax figure that overstates margins.

5-day breakout scanner: true extremes, not noise

The sidebar's 📈 At 5D Highs and 📉 At 5D Lows lists are built from rolling 1-hour volume-weighted price buckets fetched from the OSRS Wiki API. An item only appears when its live competitive price is within 0.5% of (or breaching) its actual 5-day extreme, with a minimum 3% 5-day range required so flat items don't false-positive. The scan runs against a bounded ~100-item candidate pool (top volume + top price) so it never floods the API with per-item requests.

Margin lists split by daily volume

Live 1-day margins are split into 💰 High Vol Margins (items trading 100,000+ units a day — gems, ores, bars, arrows, runes, cannonballs) and 💎 Low Vol Margins (slower-moving items with bigger absolute spreads — quest stuff, rare gear, niche commodities). Sort is absolute gp profit per flip, after GE tax. Volume tier comes from the OSRS Wiki bulk volumes endpoint, so the categorisation matches the real tape.

Bank of Gielinor — portfolio tracker with per-stack alerts

The 🪙 Bank button opens a portfolio panel where you log stacks with their quantity and (optionally) average cost. Live valuations update on every 5-minute refresh, with running P&L per stack and a total bank value at the top. Each stack can have a custom ±% alert threshold: when its value crosses the threshold versus your cost basis, a browser notification fires. Useful for long-term holds where you want to know if your sigil stack drops 10% without staring at the chart all day.

Browser push notifications you can actually see and control

The 🔔 button opens a Notification Center that shows exactly what's armed: every favorite (auto-alerts when its live price breaks above/below its 24-hour or 5-day extreme — 5D breaks are flagged separately because they're rarer and bigger), and every Bank stack with its ±% threshold inline-editable. There's a master on/off, a test-fire button so you can verify the browser permission actually works, and a tab-title (N) badge that counts how many favorites are currently at a 5-day extreme — so a background PocketGE tab tells you at a glance when something needs eyes.

Built for the phone, fast enough on desktop

The layout is mobile-first: dense vertical stack on phones, full three-column dashboard on tablets and desktops. Installable as a PWA via the browser's Add-to-Home-Screen, with a service worker so the shell loads instantly and the home-screen icon hides the URL bar like a native app. iOS requires the Add-to-Home-Screen step for browser notifications to work — the bell button walks you through it if you haven't done that yet.

Free, no signup, runs entirely in your browser

PocketGE never asks for an account or game credentials. All your favorites, Bank stacks, alert thresholds, and notification settings live in your browser's localStorage — wipe your cache and they're gone, which also means none of it leaves your device. Prices come from the public OSRS Wiki real-time prices API; historical context comes from the public Weird Gloop exchange history. Open the help (❓) inside the app for the badge / verdict glossary.

Frequently asked questions

How does the 2% Grand Exchange tax work in OSRS?

When you sell an item on the Grand Exchange, Old School RuneScape takes a 2% sales tax from the sale, rounded down, capped at 5,000,000 gp per item. Items selling for under 50 gp are exempt, and certain items (like the old school bond) are also exempt. PocketGE bakes this into every margin and into the flip calculator, so the profit you see is what you actually keep after tax — not the raw buy/sell spread.

What are the best items to flip in OSRS?

It depends on your capital and patience. High-volume staples — gems (rubies, diamonds), bars, ores, runes, arrows, cannonballs — flip fast with small per-item margins, so they suit active flipping. Low-volume items (rare gear, niche supplies) carry bigger absolute spreads but fill slower. PocketGE's sidebar splits live margins into High Vol and Low Vol lists, sorted by gp profit per flip after tax, so you can pick the style that fits how often you can hop to a GE.

What is a buy limit on the Grand Exchange?

Every tradeable item has a 4-hour buy limit — the maximum quantity you can purchase from the GE in a rolling four-hour window. It caps how much profit a single flip can make per cycle. PocketGE's "potential profit" headline multiplies the current per-item margin by the item's buy limit, so you can see the realistic ceiling for one 4-hour flip rather than a per-item figure.

How do I know when to buy or sell an item?

PocketGE gives each item a Target Buy and Target Sell anchored to recent competitive bids, plus a letter-grade verdict (e.g. "Strong Entry", "Top Sell") for the current price. The chart marks support and resistance walls — flat price levels where heavy buy or sell orders repeatedly sit — so you can place offers just inside them. The 5-day high / low badges flag when an item is testing a genuine multi-day extreme.

What's the difference between high-volume and low-volume flipping?

High-volume items trade tens of thousands to millions of units per day, so offers fill almost instantly but margins are thin — profit comes from turning capital over many times. Low-volume items trade slowly but with wider spreads, so each flip earns more gp but you may wait hours for a fill. PocketGE separates the two so you don't accidentally tie up capital in a slow item expecting a fast flip.

Is PocketGE free, and does it need my RuneScape login?

Yes, it's completely free with no ads and no account. It never asks for your RuneScape credentials — it only reads public Grand Exchange price data. Everything you save (favorites, Bank stacks, alerts) stays in your own browser. You can also install it to your phone's home screen as an app.
