Staff of Light price in OSRS — live Grand Exchange data

About Staff of Light

In game it is examined as “A ghastly weapon with evil origins combined with a holy light.” Staff of Light is members-only, so a membership is needed to trade or use it. The base game value is 1,000,005 gp, which is what shops price from rather than what players pay.

Staff of Light buy limit

The Grand Exchange lets one account buy 8 every 4 hours. That is a very tight limit, so a position is built over days rather than hours. Filling it once costs about 64,000,000 gp at the 8,000,000 gp price recorded on 11 October 2026. The limit is per account and resets on a rolling 4-hour timer.

GE tax on Staff of Light

Selling at 8,000,000 gp costs 160,000 gp in tax — 2%, rounded down, taken from the seller. A flip has to clear that before it makes anything, and it is the number most margin calculators leave out.

High alching Staff of Light

High alchemy turns one Staff of Light into 600,003 gp. Staff of Light is worth far more than that on the Grand Exchange, so the figure matters for the alch calculator rather than as anything to do.

How much Staff of Light trades

Staff of Light sees about 11 trades a day, which makes it very thinly traded — there may be no buyer for hours at a time, and one sale can set the price. That is less than twice the 8 buy limit, so a handful of buyers can take a whole day of supply.
